UBTECH Robotics (优必选)
Company Overview
UBTECH Robotics (优必选) was established in March 2012 and listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 29 December 2023 under stock code 9880.HK, which makes it one of the few pure-play humanoid robot companies anywhere with public financial statements. Headquarters are in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, with its own factory in Bao'an District.
The company's own company profile describes a full-stack approach: an embodied AI brain built on self-developed models (it names the Thinker foundation model, the Thinker-WM world model and the Thinker-VLA action model), a humanoid cerebellum covering whole-body motion control, reinforcement learning, dexterous manipulation and vision-only navigation, high-performance hardware including servo actuators, and swarm intelligence through its BrainNet and Co-Agent systems plus the ROSA and Robot Management Cloud platforms.
Some of the numbers the company publishes are worth recording because they are the kind of thing buyers cannot easily check elsewhere: as of June 2026 it reports 3,112 granted patents, of which 1,857 are invention patents and 530 are held overseas, and says it ranks first globally in valid humanoid robot patents. It also states it has led the drafting of 53 industry standards in smart robots and AI, including six national standards for humanoid robots. Its real-robot dataset is reported at roughly 11 million entries, over 80 percent of it industrial scene data.
The company dates its first-generation humanoid Walker to 2018 and says servo actuator cumulative production passed one million units the same year. That actuator volume is the detail that matters most for sourcing people, because servo actuators are the cost centre in any humanoid or legged platform.
Main Products
- Industrial humanoids: Walker S2, Walker S1 and Walker S Commercial, aimed at manufacturing, warehousing, exhibition and inspection scenarios.
- Commercial and service humanoids: Walker C1 and the Walker X lineage.
- Wheeled service robots: Cruzr series, plus the CADEBOT L100 delivery robot.
- Ultra-bionic humanoids: U1 PRO, and a panda robot used for exhibition and education.
- AI education: Yanshee, UGOT, uKit AI and uKit Explore kits, plus the Walker Tienkung platform and an AI education platform with lab and AI-centre programmes.
- Consumer hardware: robotic lawn mowers, pool cleaners, robot vacuums, smart pet products, sold partly under the AIRROBO and UBPet names.
- Components and software: servo actuators, robot management cloud, simulation platform.
Certifications
The company profile highlights recognition as a national high-tech enterprise and leadership in drafting industry and national standards, which is a different kind of credential from product certification. For education and consumer lines, buyers in the EU and US should ask for the specific CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS or toy-safety documentation for the exact SKU, including battery transport documentation where a lithium pack is included. No single certificate covers a range this broad.

Why a Buyer Would Look Here
Three honest use cases. If you are a distributor or integrator looking at humanoid or service robotics, this is one of the few suppliers where you can read audited financials before you commit to a deployment, which matters a lot for a product class where the vendor may not exist in five years. If you are building an AI education programme, the Yanshee and UGOT ecosystem is one of the more complete school packages in the market, with curriculum and competition support rather than just hardware. And if you are engineering a robotics product of your own, UBTECH is a credible benchmark for servo actuator performance and for what full-stack development costs.
Set expectations clearly on private label. This is not a vendor that will put your logo on a humanoid for 50 units. Education kits and consumer products see more OEM and ODM activity, but expect certification ownership and brand terms to be negotiated case by case, and expect the conversation to start at project scale rather than at sample scale.
For any deployment, ask for the uptime and service model, the spare parts policy for actuators, and the actual failure rate data on the specific platform rather than on the category. On a robot with 20-plus actuators, actuator replacement is the operating cost that decides whether the total cost of ownership works.
