Sourcing Notes

For a buyer, the mouldless turned-seal model changes the commercial conversation. There is no tooling amortisation, so the cost curve is nearly linear and small quantities are viable. The trade-off is that turned PTFE and turned PU seals behave differently from moulded ones: the surface finish on the sealing lip is a machining result, and it is worth asking for the Ra value and for a dimensional report on the lip geometry. A turned seal with a badly chosen lip radius will weep where a moulded one would not.
